Independently owned since 1905
The Trout Creek Farmers Market will return this year to Trout Creek Community Park, beginning July 7. The market will continue to run 4-6 p.m. every Wednesday until the first black frost. Kathy Regier, the market’s new manager, invites all residents interested in selling their fresh garden produce, baked goods and hand-crafted items to apply for a vendor space.
“Last year was actually my first year as market manager, but we didn’t have a market because of COVID-19,” Regier said. “I’ve always supported the farmer’s market and since the previous manager was stepping down, I became the new manager because I didn’t want the market to go away.” Regier says several vendors have signed up already. “The booth fee is nominal,” she said. “It’s not about profit. It’s about getting fresh, local food to local residents.”
All vendors must be local and either grow or produce within a 150-mile radius in order to sell at the market. All produce must be hand picked as well. Regier says for those who don’t grow produce on a large-scale capacity, there will be a table at the market for anyone who wants to sell single items. “If people just have green beans they want to sell for example, we can accommodate that,” she said.
