Volunteers add free library at Bull River

A new Little Free Library has joined a growing number of Little Free Libraries across the county. Volunteers placed the library at Big Sky Pantry near the Bull River Junction west of Noxon.

The library features books for all ages. Judy Erwin recycled an old oak entertainment center to form a sturdy cabinet for books. Kathy Regier painted the cabinet to attract readers. In addition to the new library at the Big Sky Pantry, there are Little Free Libraries at the Trout Creek Local Store and in front of the Thompson Falls Public Library.

"We've had the Little Free Library at the Trout Creek Local Store for several years, and we have had so many books donated, we thought we'd expand to share the wealth," Regier said.

Little Free Library is an international movement to promote literacy and the enjoyment of reading. Volunteers place books in cabinets accessible to the public. Take a book, trade a book or return a borrowed book. Books can also be donated if they are in good condition. No advertisements, tracts or brochures may be left at the libraries in the county.
