George C. Gould passed away peacefully at the Kalispell hospital in Kalispell, Montana, on June 12, 2021. George was 91 on April 16. He was the son of George W. and Clara Gould and was the youngest of 13 children. George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mona Lu Holmes Gould; two sons, George R. Gould of Caldwell, Idaho, and Randal J. Gould (Corinne) of Edge Point Oregon; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
George lived in the Thompson Falls area for the past 80 years with the exception of four years in the U.S. Air Force where he was sent to Korea and later Alaska. In 1967 George was employed by L.H.C. (Roger Claridge) and remained with L.H.C. until he started his own business, Gould’s Trucking. In 1995 he retired and spent most of the time raising horses and cattle.
George had many friends in the logging, trucking and ranching industry. He always loved to visit with friends and tell the stories of the good old days and all the friends he made along the way.
At George’s request there will be no services. The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
