Mitchell Raymond pleaded guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs in 20th District Judicial Court on Tuesday.Raymond was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over in July 2020. He admitted to having knowledge of methamphetamines that were found in the vehicle, which he attempted to hide from the police. His sentencing has been set for August 10.
Antonio White Quills was sentenced to 13 months in the Department of Corrections alcohol treatment program on Tuesday, with five years after that suspended. White Quills faced a sixth driving under the influence charge. White Quills was attending alcohol addiction treatment, where he appeared intoxicated and tested with a blood alcohol level of .139. This showed that he was still consuming, even during his treatment, according to Sanders County Attorney Naomi Leisz.
White Quills and his attorney, Kirk Krutilla, requested the judge allow White Quills a week to get his affairs in order, after which he would turn himself in. Judge James Manly denied the request, saying “You have had months to get your affairs in order and have not done so.” White Quills was taken into custody and will be required to pay a fine of $5,000, in addition to ordinary court fees.
