Most folks love when they receive a well thought-out gift, and finding the perfect gift can give someone a great sense of joy. This year, Plains Alliance Church is having its annual holiday bazaar on November 20. The theme is “Giving.” The not-for-profit event supports ministries locally and worldwide. Items for the bazaar are handmade and donated. There will be crafts, bake sale items and a silent auction, as well as services donated by church members. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., live music, pie and soup will be available for $5. The church has selected two ministries to support this year. The first is the annual Vacation Bible School for kids at Bible Chapel in Plains and run by volunteers in the church and community.
The second ministry expands the church’s reach worldwide. The Alliance Church women have strategic projects intended to provide a safe space for those most vulnerable. There are plans for a learning center for young women in West Africa, a home for women and live-in moms, a wellness center for women in the Middle East, resources for orphans and special-needs children in Myanmar, and a dorm for at-risk students in Indonesia.
Public participation at this event will have far reaching effects and will impact many people, the church stated. Plains Alliance Church is located at 505 West 5th Street.
