Stroll features crafts, carolers

Community members participated in the stroll down Thompson Falls Main Street Thursday evening, visiting several businesses that stayed open late to offer Christmas themed family activities, such as crafts and games. During the stroll, groups of carolers from First Baptist Church and Our Savior's Lutheran Church walked up and down Main Street and into businesses to sing classic holiday songs. The group then migrated to Ainsworth Park to sing for the lighting of the community Christmas tree.

During the stroll, the Black Bear opened the doors to their ballroom where families could build free gingerbread houses and take photos with Santa. Santa was played by Jerry McGuire, who came in for a haircut at the Black Bear one day and was asked to come represent the jolly St. Nick. Families could also write and send letters to Santa and listened to carolers. This was the third year the Black Bear has hosted the event.

Down the street at First Baptist Church, families could build ornaments and enjoy cider, hot cocoa and cookies. The Alysha Franck and her sons Wyatt and Owen participated in the stroll and said there were smiles all around.

At The Ledger, about 20 stroll participants decorated tie ornaments representing the Be Like Bill Foundation. Participants ended the stroll at Ainsworth Park, where the tree was lit and some words were given to honor Robin Hagedorn, a Chamber of Commerce member and active community member, who passed away earlier in the week.
