She loved this town
Last week, Thompson Falls resident Robin Hagedorn passed away unexpectedly. Her obituary is on page six and you can read about her life. But what you won't read about is all the little things Robin did to make our community better.
Robin was integral to the success of so many events, but Christmas on Main Street was her favorite. Last year, I took over for her as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. Robin gave me a four-drawer filing cabinet literally full of all her notes from events. As the year progressed, she would send me little reminders of what needed to be done, because she just knew what needed to be taken care of. I told the other Chamber board members that there was no way I was going to be able to do all that Robin did. No one could. She just knew what needed to be done and she did it, without complaining. Things just got done. Her love for the community and her compassionate and caring spirit was infectious.
Robin's passing will leave a void in our community. But having her as a friend and colleague makes me want to work harder to ensure these events continue with lots of positive energy. Even if you didn't know Robin, her stamp on the Thompson Falls community is everywhere. Every visitor and resident benefits from her community pride. This holiday season, share that pride in honor of Robin.
