Savage Heat add wins

The Hot Springs Savage Heat made it a home sweep Saturday as the boys and girls both beat Two Eagle River. The boys took an early lead, up 23-4 after the first quarter and 42-13 at the half. The Savage Heat ended up winning 73-42 as Nathan Lawhead and Jack McAllister led with 15 points each, Kyle Lawson added 11, Garth Parker 10, Quincy Styles-DePoe six, Elijah Campbell and Nick McAllister four each and Michael Marrinan three.

Coach Scott Fredrickson said his assistant coaches, Nick Pavelich and John Marrinan, are doing a great job helping to execute the team’s game plan. “Senior leadership is really good with this group,” he added. The Savage Heat are looking to improve as the season continues.

The Savage Heat girls also beat Two Eagle River, outscoring them 59-34. Hot Springs came out blazing and took a 12-2 lead after the first quarter. Two Eagle River outscored Hot Springs 17-16 in the second quarter, but the second half was all Savage Heat.

The Savage Heat will come back from break to travel to St. Regis on January 7 and then host Superior on January 8.
