The Blue Hawk wrestlers gave their home crowd a holiday show last Tuesday as they welcomed Superior and Mission-Charlo for a mixer. The Hawks won seven of their 12 matches in their first home meet of the season, and the last matchups before the team went on break for the holidays.
Blue Hawk Shane Reishus of Noxon pinned both his opponents, first taking William Buchanan of Superior to the mat in 57 seconds, then pinning Chance Bockman of Mission as the buzzer sounded at the end of the first period. Elijah Ratliff also pinned his opponent at 152 pounds, Charley Adams of Mission, in the second period. Diego Long also got a second-period pin for the Hawks at 120 pounds as he faced Dillon Dwelle of Mission. Levi Wenz was set to wrestle Dwelle later in the evening, but Dwelle forfeited due to injury.
Senior Ryan Bucher split his matches at the home mixer. In the 160-pound matches, Bucher lost to Bockman of Mission but then came back and pinned Shayden Friedlander of Mission in the first period.
Two-time state champion Trae Thilmony got a pin for the Hawks as he faced Codiak Killom of Mission, pinning him in the fourth period. Alessandro Nichol and Westin Brown wrestled tough matches on Tuesday but were unable to finish with a win. Brown was pinned by Decker Milender of Superior in the second period after a hard match by both opponents.
The Thompson Falls-Noxon team is now on holiday break until January 6 when they head to Cut Bank for a mixer and two-day tournament.
