Track teams compete among the state's best in Missoula

Eighteen teams attended the KLH Invitational including Hot Springs, Noxon and Plains. The meet was held on Saturday at MCPS Stadium in Missoula and featured some of the top athletes in the state.

Joseph Martin of Plains finished fifth in the 400 meters and 800 meters. Senior Kyle Lawson of Hot Springs hit 11-06 in the pole vault for third place,

For the Plains girls, Alexis Demin was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 31-10 and second in the discus (104-03).

Hot Springs senior Katelyn Christensen was first in the shot put at the KLH with a throw of 34-02.5 and first in the javelin (121-03.5). Christensen was also fourth in the 100 meters, fourth in the 200 meters and fifth in the discus. Lauryn Aldridge finished sixth in the long jump (14-08.5) and Josie Uski was fifth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 54.79.

Noxon senior Cade VanVleet finished second in the shot put (49-09) and fifth in the discus (124-04.5), while Emily Brown placed in four events: third in the 400 meters (1:03.64), fourth in the 800 meters (2:32.85), fifth in the javelin (106.02) and sixth in the high jump (4-06).

The 13/14C District Meet will be held at the same venue this Friday and Saturday.
