Chamber readies for circus fun

The Thompson Falls Chamber of Commerce is once again bringing the circus to town. Culpepper & Merriweather circus will perform two shows on Wednesday, June 15, at Previs Field near Thompson Falls High School. The shows will begin at 5 and 7:30 p.m.

The community will also have an opportunity to watch the big top rise. At 10 a.m. on June 15, the community is invited to watch the tent go up, tour the grounds, learn about life on the road, see the animals and get a behind-the-scenes look at the show. At 4 p.m., the midway will open with pony rides, a giant slide, bounce house, face painting, concessions and more fun.

Advance tickets can be purchased at The Sanders County Ledger, First Security Bank in Thompson Falls, Whitefish Credit Union, Limberlost Brewery and Simple Simon’s in Plains. Advance tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children age 2-12 or seniors 65 and older. The day of the performance, tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children and seniors.

The circus is a fundraiser for the Thompson Falls Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is holding a contest for free tickets. Stop by The Ledger to guess the number of cookies in a jar for a chance to win tickets. Drawings are held each Tuesday until the circus performance, so residents are encouraged to stop in each week to guess. Tickets can also be purchased online at http://www.cmcircus.com.

“We’re excited to bring the circus back to Sanders County,” said Andrea Christensen with the Thompson Falls Chamber. “It’s always fun to see the excitement on the faces of the kids and adults and it’s affordable family friendly entertainment for our community.”

The Chamber will use money raised from the circus for community projects and events, including the flower baskets on Main Street. For more information, visit http://www.thompsonfallschamber.org.
