Bruce, Lana lead Hill gang

Overcast skies and a light breeze made for a more comfortable environment during Monday play at River’s Bend. Bruce Craw kept his game clean and took the low men’s gross in Over the Hill Gang play with a 41 and Ed Mack the men’s low net of 34. Lana Nolen secured the women’s low gross with a 49, and Barb Wooden locked in the low women’s net with a 37 this week.

Over on the course, Mike Normandin finessed the ball along to be closest to the pin in two on No. 1, and Dave Garr sank the long putt on No. 2. Dan Whittenburg rolled in the long putt on No. 12 and Dave Garr also had the longest putt on No. 4. Tom Holleran pushed his game to the limit and took the ball closest to the pin on No. 5.

Jens Jantzen doubled down and laid claim to the longest putt on both No. 6 and No. 7, and Russ Wood the longest putt on No. 8. Dave Petteys coerced the ball along to claim the longest putt on No. 9, Charlie Hooten, John Torres and Lana Nolen cranked out longest drives on No. 9.

Larry Eddy laid down a chip-in on No. 4, Tom Holleran on No. 9 and Bruce Haflich on No. 5. Dave Garr and Ed Mack each laid claim to a birdie, Garr on No. 2 and Mack on No. 8. The pay for par on No. 2 was a popular event during play and went to Bruce Craw, Dave Garr, John Mosher, Tom Holleran, Dan Kier, Dan Whitenburg and Gary Thompson.
