Over the Hill plays Ryder Cup

The Over the Hill Gang played professional style Monday in a Ryder Cup golf scramble. The two-person teams played holes 1-3 as a scramble, 4-6 as best ball and 7-9 with alternating shots.

Dennis Gripp and Gary Moe won with a 25, Ray Marshall and Rusty Haggard along with Lana Nolen and Kristy Beaty tied for second with a score of 29, and Jesse and Ed Mack placed fourth with a 30.5.

Jesse Mack also hit the long putts on Nos. 11 and 13, bill Nolen was closest to the pin in two on No. 10, Al Luckow sank the long putt on No. 12, Howard Morkert's drive was closest to the pin on No. 14, Charlie Hooten smashed the long drive on No. 15 and Will Mitchell took that honor on No. 18.

The putts were sinking on Monday as Dave Tallant's was longest on No. 15, Gary Isit's on No. 16 and Lana Nolen's on No. 17, while Cuck Manry's putt was best on No. 18.

Rusty Hagard got a chip-in Monday on No. 11 while Bruce Sterling popped one in off the green on No. 13.

Summer is winding down, but the Over the Hill Gang will be back at River's Bend for a few more weeks squeezing in more rounds of golfing fun.
