Sanders County 4-H members and their furry companions competed in a dog show hosted in Trout Creek last week. "It has been three years since we hosted a dog show but our awesome new project leader Bailee Patten made it happen," said Juli Thurston with Sander County 4-H. "I'm excited to see this project grow." This year's dog show hosted three contestants, Ava Taylor, Arriel Burchak-Kennienburger and Dechlan Croneberger.
Taylor received a purple ribbon in the showmanship class and was awarded Grand Champion Dog Showman. Burchak-Kennienburger received a blue ribbon and was awarded Reserve Champion Dog Showman. Croneberger received a red ribbon in the showman class round.
During rally class, all three contestants received purple ribbons and going into the agility class, Taylor received another purple ribbon. Burchak-Kennienburger received blue and Croneberger received red.
During interviews, both Taylor and Burchak-Kennienburger received purple ribbons and Croneberger received a blue ribbon. Additional rally, agility and interview awards will be given out at Achievement Day, which Thurston says will be held in November. "The show went well," Thurston said. "The kids had fun and learned so much with their leader this year."
