Red Devils get home win

The Noxon Red Devils are back on the winning side of things as the celebrated senior night last Thursday with a 42-7 home win over Gardiner.

The Red Devils kept the Bruins scoreless until the fourth quarter, when Gardiner scored their only touchdown of the game.

Several Red Devils got in the end zone against Gardiner. “We were able to get a lot of different guys some playing time, and were able to hand out some touchdowns to guys who haven’t had one yet this year,” Coach Lucas MacArthur said of the game. “It was senior night, so we started off the evening making sure that our seniors put the first scores up on the board. Johnny Knerr scored first for Noxon in the first quarter with a 10-yard run into the end zone. In the second quarter, Gage Hendrick ran the ball in eight yards for another score.

Ian Brown scored his first touchdown of the year in the second quarter, catching a 20-yard pass from quarterback Brian Risch.

Tate Bosker also got his first touchdown of the season with a four-yard carry against Gardiner.

The Red Devils now have a week off before their last game of the regular season, set for October 21 at Twin Bridges. Coach MacArthur said his team is focusing on getting a win in the playoffs. “This group of guys can do it, but it is going to take a lot of focus and work on their part,” he said.
