Festive fall fun planned for Thompson Falls

The town of Thompson Falls will be filled with fall festivities next weekend as the Thompson Falls Chamber of Commerce holds its Fall Festival and the Community Trails Committee presents the annual Trick or Treat, Move Your Feet fun run. Both events will be Saturday, October 29.

The Fall Festival will be 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday at Ainsworth Park. The event will feature more than a dozen arts, crafts and food vendors, as well as activities for kids. A costume parade around the walking path at the park will begin at 1 p.m.

The Trick or Treat, Move Your Feet includes a 5K run and a 1-mile fun run/walk. All paces of runners are welcome to the event, which starts and ends at the NorthWestern Energy Power Park at the intersection of Maiden Lane and Pond Street. Registration is 10:15-10:45 a.m. on race day. The 1-mile Fun Run is free and the 5K run costs $15. Halloween themed socks will be given to the first 50 5K registrants and all registrants will receive a medal.

The 1-mile walk/run begins at 11:00 a.m. and the 5K follows at 11:15. Participants and their

families are encouraged to come in costumes. A costume contest will also hail the winners of

funniest, most creative and best group.

The Clark Fork Valley Elks Lodge will also host a trunk or treat event on Saturday, October 29. The public is invited to attend noon - 3 p.m. where vehicles will line the Elks parking lot for a safe, fun trick-or-treating experience.
