Pair of victories in Troy for Hawks

The Thompson Falls Blue Hawks traveled to Troy on Thursday to play the Trojans. The boys game ended in a victory for the Hawks of 55-37. In the first quarter the Hawks scored 13 points to Troy’s 6. In the second quarter the Hawks scored 14 and the Trojans 10; in the third quarter the Hawks picked up 10 points to the Trojans 7; and in the fourth, Thompson Falls gained 18 while Troy trailed behind with 14 points.

The leading scorer for the Hawks, Bryson LeCoure had 16 points and achieved 13 rebounds. Senior Josh Wilhite scored 11 points and pulled off four assists; Jesse Claridge scored four points and made four assists; Breck Ferris attained eight rebounds and scored six points; Jacob Britt racked up five points and made three rebounds; Braxton Dorscher scored five points and got two rebounds and Nick Tessier scored three points for the team.

The Lady Hawks beat the Trojans in a sweeping 57-17. “We controlled the game from the start,” said Coach Mike Tessier. The score was 35-5 at the half. Tessier said everyone got a lot of playing time with freshmen suiting up for varsity for the first time in their career. He had five freshmen on the floor at one time and they continued to hold the lead at the same distance.

The leading scorers were Avery Burgess with 16, Gabi Hannum with 15 and Chesney Lowe with 10.
