The sun gleams through cherry blossoms (above) during the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C., last week. The festival continues through April 16 with a variety of events. Last weekend, hundreds of kites in every size and shape dotted the sky along the National Mall in D.C. (right) as thousands attended the Blossom Kite Festival.
