The Plains-Hot Springs notched another win last week as they traveled to Troy to face the Trojans. Senior Garth Parker threw a shutout as the Savage-Horsemen beat the Trojans 8-0. Parker allowed just two hits in the seven innings, striking out 18 with no walks.
Both teams were scoreless in the first two innings, then the Savage-Horsemen kicked the batting into high gear in the third, scoring three runs. They scored one more in the fifth before turning on the turbo boosters in the sixth inning.
Plains-Hot Springs put up four runs in the sixth inning, coach Matt Feliksa said, with singles from Jodi Page, Matthew Thurston and Aiden West, and a sac fly by Matthew Wyatt.
Beau Crabb led Plains-Hot Springs with two hits in three at bats. West had two of the team’s seven RBIs. “Plains/Hot Springs Horsemen Varsity 2023 was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Page made the most plays with 18,” Coach Feliksa said.
The Savage-Horsemen are headed into the postseason this weekend as they travel to Columbia Falls for a tournament Friday and Saturday.
