The Cabinet Ridge Riders held their annual Horse Poker Run on Saturday, June 17. This year’s run had 70 riders. Check-in began at 8:40 a.m. at the Wayside Bar and Grill in Trout Creek, and the poker run itself started at 10 a.m. Sarah Henriksen and Jason Helvey put this year’s run together.
The poker run consisted of five stops, which included a hot dog stop for the humans and carrots for the horses. The fifth and final card stop was back at the Wayside and had to be completed by 5 p.m. After the ride, there was a bucket raffle with donated items from many places in the area. All proceeds go to the Cabinet Ridge Riders, who contribute to many community projects in the area, including scholarships, grants and more. The Cabinet Ridge Riders would like to say a big thank you to all of the riders and donors who helped make this year’s event a success.
