That's a wrap for leagues

That’s a wrap on the 2023 men’s golf league season. The Tuesday and Wednesday leagues at River’s Bend Golf Course toasted the season end with fun night scrambles last week.

On Tuesday, the NLC Inc. team of Howard Morkert, Scott Rasor, Bill Nolen, Mike Tessier and Mike Lilly carded the low round of 33. Morkert, Dave Petteys, Ricky Hagedorn and Rusty Haggard all had chip-ins in their final round of league play.

Zack Hannum sank the long putt on No. 3, Kade Pardee’s drive was closest to the pin on both par three holes, John Mosher had the long putt on No. 6, and Lilly and Doug Fisher hit the long drives on No. 9.

In the final Wednesday league fun night, Mountain Plains golfers Ron Beaty, Paul Flemmer, Doug Robichaud, Ricky Hagedorn and Bernie Groshong had the best scramble score of 31. Robichaud and Bob Brown hit the long drives on No. 9, Jesse Mack the long putt on No. 3, Steve Clark was closest to the pin on No. 5, Wally Gibe had the long putt on No. 6 and Bruce Sterling’s drive was the best on No. 8.

Five golfers ended league play with chip-ins last Wednesday, including Dan Kier, Michael Scharfe, John Mosher Mike Baxter and Mike Normandin.

The River's Bend ladies league celebrated their season with steak night and a fun round of play last Thursday. Lana Nolen and Liz Morkert were crowned the champions and Marshanna Drop was honored as the most improved golfer for the season.
