Over the Hill Gang finishes season

The Over the Hill Gang finished out their 2023 season on Monday, enjoying a final round at River’s Bend and a steak luncheon.

Gary Thompson had the low gross round for the men with a 39, while Scott Garr shot the low net of 30, Lana Nolen had the low gross for the women with a 46 and Kristy Beaty the women’s low net of 31.

Showing off in the final round, Davey Petteys (No. 6) and Garr (No. 9) each had a chip-in, Bruce Sterling and Tom Pride won the pay for par competition on No. 2 and Pride (No. 3), Thompson (No. 7), Nolen (No. 7) and Dave Garr (No. 3) all added birdies to their scorecards.

Thompson’s second shot was closest on No. 1 and he had the long putts on No. 4 and No. 7. Other long putt awards went to Carter Meyer on No. 2, Beaty on No. 3, Jackie Pride on No. 6, Petteys on No. 8 and Al Luckow on No. 9. Also on No. 9, Russ Wood and Beaty smashed the long drives. Jens Jantzen was closest to the pin on No. 5, Dave Garr hit the long drive on No. 6 for those 70 and over and Ron Beaty was closest to the pin on No. 8.

The season may be over, but the Over the Hill Gang will cherish the memories of their season as they begin the wait for next year.
