Thompson Falls alumni Justin Morgan, a sophomore at Montana Tech, has a lot to be proud of this year already. Morgan took third in the Frontier championship earning him All-Conference honors, with the Tech Orediggers as a team taking second place. This put the 19th-ranked Orediggers on the road for their first ever trip to the 44th annual NAIA National Championship in Vancouver, Washington.
Racing on the Fort Vancouver National Historic Championship course with 36 other schools and 85 runners seemed to be the challenge of the year, but Morgan, who had been working incredibly hard to improve his running times, proved to be a powerhouse for Montana Tech, crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 25:31.9. Earning 25th as a team, Morgan was able to break into the top 40, taking 33rd place. This would earn him All-American honors. This honor is awarded annually to the most outstanding athletes in cross country.
Congratulations to not only Justin Morgan but the whole Montana Tech cross country team for an outstanding season!
