A local organization has a special auction item for their upcoming banquet. NFL hall of famer Jerry Kramer autographed a Green Bay Packers helmet for the Foundation for Wildlife Management’s local banquet.
Jerry Kramer was born in Jordan in 1936 and played 11 years in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers. The helmet was donated by Dick Vinson of Thompson Falls for the Foundation for Wildlife Management banquet scheduled for May 4.
Vinson asked Kramer, who he has known for many years, if he would donate something to the local event. Kramer is the only NFL player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame who was born in Montana, Vinson stated. Kramer was inducted into the hall of fame in 2018 at the age of 82.
The Foundation for Wildlife Management banquet is Saturday, May 4, at the Bar JR Arena in Trout Creek. Organizer Glenn Schenavar is excited to have Kramer’s autographed helmet for the live auction. He also said a 3-day fishing trip in the Bahamas is among the auction items, as well as a bison hunt and a South African safari hunt.
Dinner starts at 5 p.m. for the May 4 event. Tickets are available at F4WM.org. The organization raises funds in an effort to reimburse members for the costs of harvesting wolves.
