Blue Hawks take to the road

The Thompson Falls Blue Hawks took to the road Saturday to take on the Columbia Falls Iceberg invitational for a beautiful spring day filled with track and field.

Hawk Ian Myers was on point on the track, earning first place in the JV 400-meter race with a time of 59.70 seconds and also winning the 800 meter in 2 minutes, 22.46 seconds. Myers also placed first in the JV high jump, clearing 5 feet, 2 inches. For the girls, freshman Addy Deal brought home first place in the JV triple jump with a jump of 30’2”.

In the men's junior varsity 100 meter, Teagan Dorscher earned a time of 13 seconds, while Kaden Cox finished in 16.3. In the JV 200 meter race, Ethan Geisbusch earned a time of 27.29, Teagan Dorscher with 27.63, Devon Garrett with 29.52, and Kaleb Vanek with 30.08. Geisbush ran the 400 meters in 59.67. Also in the JV 400, , Garrett finished in 1:03 and Vanek in 1:11. Vanek ran the JV 800 in 2:55. Geisbusch, Teagan Dorscher, Garrett and Myers made up the men’s 4 by 400 relay team for JV taking fifth place with their time of 4:11.

Trinity Riffle took fourth place in the women’s 100 meter race with her time of 13.93 and Addyson Deal was behind her with a time of 15.05. In the JV 100, Ellyonna Vild earned a time of 16.20, with Amaya Harmon behind her in 19.78. Riffle earned a grand time of 28.13 for her 200 meter race, Ellyonna Vild coming in behind her in JV with a time of 33.90, and Harmon in 43.06. Deal made an impressive time in the 400 meters with 1:08. Peighton Kenney took third in the 400 meter JV with her time of 1:12, Allyeska Vild finished in 1:18. Kenney would go on to take fifth place in the 800 meter race, getting a time of 3:05.

Zack Ames threw the shot put for the Hawks, getting an impressive throw of 37 feet, 6 inches, with James Schmidt behind throwing 34'5”. For JV Thmas Pate threw 27'3, Colton Arnold with 25'11”, Wyatt Brotherton with 25'8.5”. Ames threw the discus getting 91'10.5”, Schmidt behind with 88'8”. In JV discus Brotherton threw a 61'3”, Pate with 54' 9.5, Arnold with 54’9”. Ames proved his strong arm throwing a 89'9” for javelin, with Schmidt throwing 81’, and Devon Garrett with 77'6”. For JV in javelin, Brotherton threw a 79'4”, with Arnold behind throwing 67'6”, and Pate with 57'2”. Teagan Dorscher cleared 15’4” for JV long jump.

Amay Harmon threw the discus for JV, getting a throw of 41'4”. Addyson Deal earned fourth place in the javelin with her majestic throw of 92'8”, Peighton Kenney threw for JV getting 71'10”, Ellyonna Vild with 51'6”, Amaya Harmon with 46'9”, and Allyeska Vild with 44'6”. Trinity Riffle earned second place in the high jump with her jump of 5'0”, a new personal best. Kenney and Deal both cleared 7’ for the JV pole vault.
