Williams, Deming, Tulloch compete at Top 10

Thompson Falls, Noxon, and Plains hit the road Saturday taking on the Whitefish A.R.M. invitational for a full day of track and field with 13 other schools. But first three Sanders County athletes took to Missoula to compete among the best of the best at the Top 10 meet. They included Ricky Willams from Noxon, and Marina Tulloch and Alexis Deming from Plains.

Williams took third place in the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 4 inches, a new personal best for the junior. Tulloch took eighth place in the 3200 meter run with her time of 12 minutes, four seconds. Deming took on two events, earning third place for her shot put throw of 37 feet four inches. She would go on to take first place in discus for her throw of 118’.5”.

At Whitefish for the 100 meter race Nicholas Hill from Plains earned a grand time of 11.66 seconds, John Thurston with 12.01, Greg Tatum with 12.24, Zander Czifro with 12.37, and Matthew Thurston with 13.07. Cody West earned a time of 12.81 for his 100 meter JV race, Cooper Meredith with 13.03, and Jack Cockrell with 13.90. Czifro ran the 200 meters in just 25.85 seconds, with West behind earning 27.37, and Matthew Thurston with 27.52. Darren Standeford took on the 400 meter run earning a time of 54.81, Czifro with 56.06, and Aiden Silva with 59.60. Joseph Martin ran the 800 meters in 2:12, with Mike Reistroffer with 2:25, Kalem Ercanbrack with 2:32, and Asher Seymour with 2:43. Reistroffer took on the 1600 meters earning a time of 5:19, Ercanbrack with 5:28, and Seymour with 5:58. West would be the only Horseman to take on the 300 meter hurdles earning a time of 47.22. Nicholas Hill, Czifro, Tatum, and John Thurston would be the men’s 4 by 100 relay team earning a time of 46.77. West, Meredith, Cockrell and Matthew Thurston would be the JV men’s 4 by 100 relay team earning fifth place with their time of 49.47. Czifro, Martin, Tatum and Standeford made up the men’s 4 by 400 relay team earning a time of 4:06. The JV 4 by 400 relay team made up of Silva, Ercanbrack, Seymour, and Reistroffer earned first place with their time of 4:22.

Kalli Tuma from Plains earned a time of 14.17 for her 100 meter race, with Ireland Corbin with 15.08, Amy Hill with 15.10, and Peyton Wasson with 15.15. Corbin ran in the 200 meters earning a time of 31.09 and Amy Hill with 33.00. Marina Tulloch took on the 800 meter race earning third place with her time of 2:34, teammate Wasson behind with 2:38. Tulloch also ran the 1600 meter taking third place with a time of 5:28. Tuma earned fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles for Plains with her time of 17.79, and Amy Hill with 19.91. Tuma took second in the 300 meter hurdles with her stunning time of 51.04, Ashley Ferlan behind with 56.29. Katelyn Subatch, Wasson, Ferlan, and Tuma were the women’s 4 by 400 relay team earning second place with a time of 4:49.

For Thompson Falls Braxton Dorscher earned a time of 12.08 in the 100 meters, while his brother Teagan earned a time of 13.24 for JV. Braedon Ferris crossed the finish line in the 200 meters with a time of 25.15, with Braxton Dorscher behind with a time of 25.48. Teagan Dorscher earned a time of 27.38 in the 200 meters for JV. Kaleb Vanek would be the only Hawk to take on the 400 meters, earning a time of 1:14. Chase Helvey earned a time of 2:36 for his JV 800 meters, Vanek behind with 2:59. Cael Thilmony earned a new personal best in the men’s 1600 meters with his time of 5:05, Helvey earned a time of 5:42 for the 1600 meters JV, Blake Shusterman with 6:07, and Vanek with 6:42. Thilmony earned fourth place for his 3200 meter time of 11:12, while Shusterman earned second place in the 3200 meter JV with his time of 13:07.

Trinity Riffle ran the 100 meters for the Hawks earning a time of 13.71, Ellyonna Vild would run the 100 meter JV earning a time of 15.90, with Amaya Harmon with 19.85. Riffle would go on to take sixth place in the 200 meters with her time of 28.41. In the JV 200 meters Ellyonna Vild earned a time of 33.21, Allyeska Vild with 35.46, Amaya Harmon with 43.26. Aubrey Baxter took third place for Thompson in the 400 meters with her time of 1:05, and Allyeska Vild took on the 400 meter JV earning a time of 1:18. Baxter would take on the 800 meters crossing the finish line 2:43, while Peighton Kenney earned a time of 2:58 for her 800 meter JV race. Addyson Deal would take on the 100 meter hurdles earning a time of 21.24. Deal, Kenney, Baxter and Riffle would be the women’s 4 by 400 relay team earning third place with their time of 4:52.

For Hot Springs David, Chapman earned a time of 12.13 for his 100 meter run, and Ben Aldridge earned 12.80. Samson Jakabosky ran the 100 meter JV race crossing the finish line with 13.58, Calvin Timmer with 14.05, and Robert Setters with 14.73. Chapman took on the 200 meter earning a time of 26.00, with Jakabosky earning a time of 28.59 for his run in the 200 JV race, and Setters behind with 31.79. Chapman would earn third place in the 110 meter hurdles for the Savage Heat with his time of 16.17, with Ben Aldridge earning 19.60. Chapman would go on to earn fifth place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 45.03.

Lanet Jakabosky earned a time of 15.18 for her 100 meter JV run, with Ava Bouquet at 16.69. Kara Christensen earned a time of 29.58 for her 200 meter race, Kora Hensrude took sixth place in the 200 meter JV with her time of 31.52, and Bouquet came in with 34.69. Christensen would go on to take fifth place in the 100 meter hurdles with her time of 18.44, while Lanet Jakabosky took first place in the 100 meter hurdles JV with her time of 19.20. Christensen would go on to take third place in the 300 meter hurdles crossing the finish line with a time of 52.92.

Brenden Vanderwall got a throw of 35 feet nine inches for his shot put throw for the Horsemen, Greg Tatum with 34’0”, Kylan Bostick with 33’10” and Will Tatum with 31’1”. Aiden Silva earned not only a new personal best but also second place in shot put JV with his throw of 33’8”. Vanderwall threw discus for the Horsemen with a throw of 88’4”, with Tatum behind with 83’7”, Bostrick threw for JV earning a throw of 76’3”, and Liam Lyman with 51’6”. Joseph Martin took on the javelin throwing 122’8.5”, with Tatum at 122’4”, Vanderwall earned a new personal best with 120’3”, Cody West threw 102’0”, and Jack Cockrell threw for JV earning 79’9”. Cooper Meredith took on the high jump earning a jump of 5’2”, with Cockrell in JV earning 4’8”. In the long jump Ercanbrack earned 17’2.5”, Meredith with 15’7.5”, Silva with 15’.5” and Matthew Thurston with 13’11.5”. Meredith earned 34’6” for his triple jump.

Alexis Deming took first place in shot put for the Trotters with her throw of 35’4”, Mackenzie Tulloch with 24’10.5”, Ireland Corbin with 20’11”. Deming would go on to take first place in discus as well with her throw of 127’1” a new personal best for the junior. Ashley Ferlan threw 76’4”, Mackenzie Tulloch with 62’4”, and Corbin with 60’1”.

Zack Ames took sixth place in shot put for Thompson Falls earning a throw of 38’1”, Braedon Ferris with 35’10.5”, and Thomas Pate with 29’9.5”. Gabe Hutton took first place in the shot put JV for the Hawks with his throw of 39’9” a new season best for the junior. Colton Arnold with 26’0”, Wyatt Brotherton with 26’0”, and Everett Brotherton with 19’5”.

Ferris would earn second place in discus with his throw of 134’5”, Ames with 108’0”, and Pate with 63’2”. Hutton would throw 83’6” for discus JV, Everett Brotherton with 56’0”, Wyatt Brotherton with 55’6” and Arnold with 54’6”. Arnold would go on to throw javelin for JV earning a throw of 89’0”, Wyatt Brotherton with 72’3”, Pate with 60’8” and Everett Brotherton with 52’6”. Braxton Dorscher would be the only Hawk to take on the long jump clearing 19’6.5”. “Braxton had a great series of jumps in the long jump and put him right back up there in the rankings. This was a huge highlight of the day,” Hawk coach Trenna Ferris stated.

Trinity Riffle took first place in the high jump for the Hawks clearing 4’10”. Serenity Barrus threw shot put for the Hawks earning a throw of 23’0”, She would also throw discus for JV getting 59’2”. Allyeska Vild also threw discus for JV earning a throw of 46’6”, Amaya Harmon threw 44’2”, and Ellyonna Vild threw 38’2”. Addyson Deal threw the javelin, earning a throw of 91’11.5”, with Peighton Kenney throwing behind with 84’2”. Deal took second place for pole vault clearing 7’6”, with Kenney behind clearing 7’0”. Ellyonna Vild jumped for long jump earning 12’2”. Deal cleared 29’9.75” for triple jump, while Aubrey Baxter cleared 29’2.5” .

David Chapman would take second place for Hot Springs in shot put with his throw of 41’5”, while Danielle Slonaker would throw 31’11” for JV, Calvin Timmer behind with 30’3”, and Saul Gonzalez with 23’4”. Slonaker would earn fourth place in discus JV with his throw of 93’11”, with Gonzalez behind with 58’4”. In the JV javelin Slonaker would take second place with his throw of 121’6”, Robert Setters with 94’1”, Timmer with 90’11”, and Samson Jakabosky with 87’.5” Jakabosky would take fifth place in the long jump JV clearing 15’9.5”, with Timmer at 15’5”.

Georgia Uski earned a throw of 28’11” in shot put, while Kora Hensrude threw 24’1” in shot put JV, a new personal best for the freshman, and Hollis Key threw 22’3”. Kara Christensen threw discus for Hot Springs earning a 98’2”, Uski behind with 94’5”, Throwing for JV Lanet Jakabosky earned third place for her throw of 74’3”, Key with 73’7”, and Ava Bouquet with 55’2”. Christensen would be the only Lady Savage Heat to throw the javelin, throwing 101’0”. Lanet Jakabosky earned fourth place for her long jump, clearing 13’3.5”, with Kora Hensrude clearing 13’1.5”.

“We were very happy with our athletes. Many of them stepped up and competed when it mattered the most,” Coach Ferris said.

Plains and Thompson Falls will hit the road Saturday to take on the Archie Roe in Kalispell, while Noxon and Hot Springs will see the KLH meet in Missoula, also on Saturday.
