Hawks continue win streak

Fresh off some home wins, the Thompson Falls Lady Hawks crushed Florence 4-0 on Monday evening, improving their reacord to 14-3. It was the eighth straight win for the mighty Hawks.

Thompson Falls added another Pirk's Place win after defeating the Plains Trotters 13-3 on Thursday.

Olivia Fitchett stepped on the mound first for the Hawks, walking the first batter, then striking out the next three with no hits. At the bottom of the first, Thompson was able to get on the board after Gabi Hannum drew a walk scoring one run, Addie Traver drew a walk scoring one run, Brooklyn Cork grounded out scoring one run and Annalise Fairbank singled scoring one run.

Both teams would remain scoreless in the second inning, while the Trotters were able to get on the board themselves after Taylor Saner scored one run in the top of the third on an inside the park home run. The Lady Hawks were able to add to their lead in the bottom of the third when Kassidy Dana doubled and Fairbank stole home, each scoring one run. The teams would go runless in the fourth inning, while Trystan Larsen singled in the top of the fifth inning for the Trotters. Plains would add to their score after Teirainy Bellinger doubled, scoring a run, and Saner was able to sneak in a steal at home plate. Thompson was able to add to their lead in the bottom of the fifth after two walks scored two runs. The Lady Hawks would keep the Trotters runless in the sixth inning while a walk and a double would add three more runs for a Thompson Falls win.

Trystan Larsen led the Trotters with two hits, while Taryn Meredith, Randie Kilgore, Montana Taylor, Aubrey Butcher, Bellinger, and Saner each earned one.

Traver, Fitchett, Hannum, Sarah Koskela and Harnett each got two runs for the Hawks, while Fairbank, Cork, and Mackenzie Robinson each got one. The Hawks had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 12 walks. Fitchett, Koskela, Robinson, Cork, Harnett, Traver and Hannum each stole multiple bases for Thompson Falls as the Lady Hawks were able to steal 26 bases in the game.

The Lady Hawks then faced the Eureka Lions on Friday, taking the win 10-3.

The Lions were able to get an early lead, scoring one run in the bottom of the first inning while keeping the Lady Hawks runless. Eureka added another run to their early lead in the second inning. The Lady Lions would be able to sneak in one run in the top of the third, but Thompson was able to tie up the game in the bottom of the third inning scoring four runs. The Lady Hawks found their groove and would keep Eureka runless at the top of the fourth inning, while finding home base once more to take the lead. Thompson would be able to advance their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring five runs on three hits to take the home win.

Olivia Harnett led for the Hawks with two runs, Olivia Fitchett led with three hits, and Mackenzie Robinson followed with two hits for Thompson Falls.

The Hawks traveled to face Mission-Arlee-Charlo (MAC) on Wednesday while the Trotters take to the road, traveling to see the Eureka Lions on Thursday.
