Baxter finished second in Idaho

The Thompson Falls cross country team crossed state lines last weekend to compete at Farragut State Park in Idaho.

“We ran JV at this meet. There were LOTS of teams there, so the competition was great in all the races,” head coach Sarah Naegeli said.

Blue Hawk Weston Block had a time of 20 minutes, 10 seconds, with teammate Balke Shusterman coming in at 20:54.Nathan Baxter crossed the finish line in 21:46, while Tuff Ryder (21:48) came in seconds behind. Luke Pastorius had a time of 22:21, and Jakob Molina came in at 25:02.

Aubrey Baxter took second place for the JV girls with her time of 22:47. Lexi Franck had a great race finishing in the top 20 with her time of 23:49. Evalyn Edwards (23:27) and Peighton Kenney (25:43) also ran a great race. Madeline Zyromski had a new personal record with her 28:34 time.

“We saw some great teamwork, with Aubrey working her way up from top 20 to second in the girls race, Tuff and Nathan working together to push each other, and Lexi, Evy and Peighton working their way through the crowds and challenging each other.” Naegeli said of her team.

The Hawks take to the road this weekend taking on the Corvallis invite.
