Hot Springs falls at home, Noxon gets road win

DRUMMOND 3, HOT SPRINGS 0

The Hot Springs Savage Heat hosted their first game taking on the Drummond Trojans, falling in three sets.

In the first set Drummond was quick to take an early lead over Hot Springs, and they were able to keep their lead 9-3. The Savage Heat tried to keep up with the Trojans but they couldn't gain the lead and soon Drummond had a massive 10 point lead. That was until Hot Springs' own Brooke Jackson was able to serve up several aces to bring the score to 18-14.The Savage Heat kept a level head and made a comeback but not enough to take the first set.

The second set would start with the teams going point for point until Drummond was able to once again take the lead. The Trojans were able to capitalize off several Hot Springs errors to make their lead even larger. The Savage Heat tried to make a comeback but were unable before Drummond took the second set for their own.

In the third set the Trojans once again came out heavy handed taking the first points for themselves, making Hot Springs work for their points. In a blink of an eye the score was 15-3 with Drummond taking the colossal lead. TheSavage Heat would find their groove holding the Trojans while trying for an epic comeback, but they would only be able to gain six points before Drummond took the final set for their own.

LINCOLN 3,

The Savage Heat then hit the road seeing the Lincoln Lynx, falling in four sets.

In the first set Lincoln was quick to take the lead with Hot Springs hanging close behind for most of the set. The score would be 9-6 when the Savage Heat upped their game, putting on the intensity, and soon the scoreboard read in a tie. But the Lynx would find holes in Hot Springs defense and would take the lead once more. The score would be 22-15 when the Savage Heat were able to hold Lincoln while gaining points, but it wouldn't be enough to take the set.

Coming into the second set the Savage Heat found their groove and quickly took a massive lead over the Lynx. They would keep their lead for much of the second set, capitalizing off Lincoln's errors. Hot Springs would hold the Lynx to just 11 points while taking the second set for their first set win.

Going into the third set Hot Springs would once again take the lead, but the Lynx held their own and soon the scores were going point for point, until Lincoln was able to pull away from Hot Springs to make the score 14-9. The Savage Heat were able to gain just six more points before the Lynx held them, taking the third set win.

Headed into the fourth set, Lincoln would take an early five point lead over Hot Springs. The Lynx would hold onto their lead for most of the set, until Hot Springs was able to find their groove. The Savage Heat would take the score from 11-4 to 12-11 quickly before the crowd's eyes. The two teams would continue to go point for point until the Lynx once again pulled ahead, taking the win.

The Savage Heat host the Stillwater Christian Cougars on Tuesday with results in next week's Ledger, and then they hit the road taking on the Charlo Vikings Friday, September 13.

NOXON 3,

TWO EAGLE RIVER 0

The Noxon Red Devils hit the road taking on the Two Eagle River Eagles, winning in three sets.

The Eagles quickly took a lead in the first set, making Noxon work for their points. Swiftly the Red Devils were able to find their teamwork and made the score tied at nine. From there Noxon was able to take the lead and keep it until the scores reached 16. From there Two Eagle was able to once again take the lead. The teams would go point for point until Noxon was able to take the set for their own.

Going into the second set the Red Devils would take the lead. The Eagles would try to gain the lead but Noxon would keep their momentum and would take a massive nine point lead. The Red Devils would hold onto their lead and would take the second set win.

Headed into the final set Noxon would once again take an early lead over the Eagles. The Red Devils would hold onto their 10 point lead for much of the final set. In a blink of an eye Noxon would make the score 19-9, making the Eagles work for every point they would gain. Two Eagle would only be able to gain one more point before the Red Devils took home their first win.

Noxon will host their first game against the St. Regis Tigers Thursday with results in next week's Ledger.
