Hawks ready for playoffs after home win

THOMPSON FALLS 23, WHITEHALL 0

The Blue Hawks hosted the Whitehall Trojans for the last game of the regular season taking the win 23-0.

The Hawks started with a kick off return, but a swift interception landed the ball back in Trojan hands. The Hawks held their helmets to the ground and would stop Whitehall from gaining a touchdown the whole first quarter, while the Trojans also put their toughest defense together keeping Thompson from the endzone.

In the second quarter, Whitehall was able to gain a first down, and would work away at the Hawk defense for more than half the quarter. Once the ball got into Thompson hands, they only had a minute before halftime, and as quick as they might have been, they were unable to find the endzone.

Coming back from the half, the Trojans opened the quarter with a massive run for a first down, and in their next play a fumble allowed Hawk Bryson LeCoure to gain the ball for Thompson. While no touchdown was scored, it brought new life to the Hawks, and on their next play with 34 seconds left Kaiden Robins was able to make a swift three yard run for Thompson, putting their first points on the board. To make their lead even larger the team went for a two point run conversion, and Noa Stevens was able to find the endzone for another Hawk touchdown.

The Hawks opened the fourth quarter getting a massive fumble recovery that was answered with a Whitehall fumble recovery. But Thompson's defense was able to put a stop to the Trojans and keep them scoreless once more. A pass interception put the ball back in Hawk hands, and LeCoure was able to read the field and fight through the Trojans to gain a massive 56 yard run touchdown for Thompson. Once again the team went for the two extra points, and Hawk Ian Myers found himself in the endzone, putting the score at 16-0. A minute later Robins was able to get another interception that would allow the Hawks to set up a first down, and LeCoure was able to find Robins for the final touchdown of the game.

Bryson LeCoure earned 120 yards rushing, eight yards receiving and eight tackles for the Hawks. Kaiden Robins had 21 yards passing, 99 yards rushing, and one tackle. Bryson McCormick earned six tackles, while teammates Noa Stevens and Ian Myers each earned three.
