Joseph Eugene Stout went home at 6:03 p.m. on October 9, 2024, surrounded by loving family.
Joe was born September 1956 in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Lyle E. and Helen G. (Fisher) Stout. He came home to Whitepine, Montana, in a few days, where he was raised with three siblings, attending school in Thompson Falls. He attended Thompson Falls High School, graduating in 1974.
Joe worked many jobs in the Thompson Falls area, eastern Montana and North Dakota before resettling in Thompson Falls in the 1980s. He married three times and divorced twice. He met Diane (Falkenhagen) Stout in Sidney, Montana, relocating to Thompson Falls with her and their daughter Sarah. Diane predeceased him in 1986. He spent the rest of his life in Thompson Falls, where he worked, fished and hunted.
He worked many years at TRL, before meeting Gary Johnson of Appliance Sales and Repair. After several years working with Gary, he purchased the business from him and became a well-known businessman in the Thompson Falls area. He owned and operated Appliance Sales and Repair until he retired.
He is survived by two daughters, Hannah (Cory) Stern of Olympia, Washington, and Sarah (Miles) Lappin of Kalispell; sisters Dianne (Robert) Anglin, Ruth (Roy) Pataky, and Janice Ford; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lyle and Helen Stout; wife Diane Stout; and brother-in-law Elmer Ford.
At Joe's request, no memorial or funeral is anticipated. His remains will be disposed of in private family services. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a local charity of the donor's choice.
See you on the other side, Joe. You were a gentle, warm person. Known by many, deeply loved by a few. You will be missed.
