On Saturday, November 16, the Plains cross country team hit the trail to Eagle, Idaho, for the Northwest Regional Championship at the Eagle Island State Park competing with 3,684 high school athletes.
"I really wanted the kids to get the experience no matter where they placed," said head coach Jesse Jermyn.
Only one Trotter took on the Championship race. Marina Tulloch took 21st with her time of 18:18, putting her back in third place overall in the state.
"Marina came out and actually got a personal best at Regionals, and while she was short for Nationals, I am still so proud of the motivation she has," Jermyn said.
In the Rising Stars in the girls category, Ireland Corbin crossed the finish line first for the Trotters with her time of 22:28, and Annika Ercanbrack came behind with 23:59. Savannah Costner had a time of 22:02, and teammate Tia Bellinger crossed with a time of 24 minutes flat.

"I am extremely proud of my team. It's one thing to have the talent but these kids also have the motivation and I can't wait to see what next season has in store for us." said Jermyn.
