“The girls really let their nerves get to them and the score shows. But they have a lot of drive and in the second game of the tournament they really shined. Going forward we are just going to keep the excitement, work together and try new things,” said Noxon Coach Cory Brodmerkle.

Seanna Richter led for the Devils with five points, Abby Yoder had three out of the team’s seven steals.

NOXON 36, ARLEE 22

The Red Devils girls came back Saturday to get their first win of the season over the Arlee Scarlets 36-22.

“The girls were getting fouled a lot, but they kept a level head and kept calm throughout the whole game to come out on top,” coach Brodmerkle stated.

Seanna Richter led for the Devils with a double double getting 27 points and 12 rebounds. Abby Yoder and Jasmin Risch each got four assists, and Yoder had eight out of the team’s 22 steals.

DARBY 42, HOT SPRINGS 39

The Hot Springs boys then lost a competitive game to the Arlee Warriors, 60-42, on Saturday. The Savage Heat put up a good fight, but the Warriors kept a consistent lead through the entire game. Coach Benson said he was beyond pleased with his team’s performance on the weekend. “The Arlee pressure was unrelenting. They shot the ball really well and it was a chaotic game. We picked it up at the end,” he noted.
