Going into the final quarter Noxon was able to keep Clark Fork to minimal scoring, while gaining 10 points to take the home court win.
“This was our best scoring game. The girls really looked like a varsity team with their solid team work,” said Noxon coach Cory Brodmerkle. Seanna Richter led for Noxon with 18 points and Abby Yoder had 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals, while Jasmin Risch had four assists for the Devils.
NOXON 70,
CLARK FORK 43
The Noxon boys were able to pull away from the Wampus Cats early in their game and kept Clark Fork on their toes throughout the first half. The Devils ended the first half with a 19-point lead. In the third quarter the Devils continued with their lead, and quickly put more points between the two teams, keeping the Cats to gaining only eight points in the third quarter. Shane Murray was aggressive in the paint for the Red Devils, pulling down rebound after rebound. Murray led the Devils with 22 points, Shane Hatchel scored 17 and Cameron Blair had 10.
NOXON 87,
TWO EAGLE RIVER 79
It was close from the start for the Red Devils at Two Eagle River, where the Devils were able to have a slight lead at the end of the first quarter. Both teams continued to sink baskets in the second, but the Devils held their lead. While the Eagles were unable to take the lead, they put up a massive 30 points in the third to bring the score within four. Noxon started the fourth quarter with a three pointer and continued their quick ball movements to take the road win. Cameron Blair led with 27 points, Ricky Willaims and Shane Hatchel each scored 17 and Justice Kayser had 14 for Noxon.
NOXON 36,
TWO EAGLE RIVER 35
The Lady Devils then came out strong against the Eagles, quickly gaining the first points and holding onto their lead for the whole of the quarter. Two Eagle opened the second with a three pointer, keeping the Devils to only one basket for the quarter. Noxon was able to keep their lead and ended quarter three up by just one point. While the Eagles opened the final quarter with a basket, it was answered by Emma Swanson who was able to sink a three pointer to take back the lead for Noxon, who held onto the lead for the remainder of the game.
“It was a nail-biting game, but the girls kept a level head and pushed through to get the win,” said coach Cory Brodmerkle.
Seanna Richter led with 15 points and eight rebounds, Jasmin Risch had nine points and seven rebounds, while Abby Yoder had five steals for Noxon.
CHARLO 58, NOXON 21
At Charlo, the Lady Vikings gained the first baskets and never looked back. Charlo kept Noxon to minimal scoring in the first quarter, but only allowed one basket in the second quarter while putting up 23 points. Noxon came back in the third quarter and was able to gain the first points, but it was short-lived as Charlo once again broke past the Devil’s defense. Charlo kept their lead through the final eight minutes.
“The girls were really worn out, with back to back to back games. We came out good but then got worn down by the fourth quarter. But we are resting up and getting ready to take on Hot Springs. The girls are ready for that rematch. Both teams are seeing improvement so it will be fun to watch,” stated Brodmerkle.
Seanna Richter led with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Emma Swanson had two assists and two steals for the Devils.
NOXON 95, CHARLO 85
The Red Devil boys then took on Charlo, coming to dominate the first quarter with 15 points before the Vikings could gain their own points. Charlo found their groove in the second and would go basket for basket with the Devils, but Noxon held onto their lead before the half. Noxon continued to find Shane Hatchel who put up basket after basket for the Devils in the third. Charlo had a big final quarter, hitting back-to-back three pointers, but they weren’t able to gain the win over the powerhouse Noxon team.
